Have you ever been given a diagnosis that you haven’t been able to recover from?
Is an illness keeping you from having the life you want?
On the other hand, you may have heard stories of people like Arthur, who have defied the odds, had miraculous healing experiences, and recovered more from an illness than doctors predicted they would.
What is their secret to turning their health around?
One thing unquestionably required for healing (that most people who are sick do not have) is to be 100% in alignment with healing.
When you are sick, it is likely you will experience conscious and/or subconscious blocks to healing. This is not your fault, it doesn’t mean you are weak, lacking will power or defective in any way. In fact, a tendency to self-sabotage is something we humans fight on a daily basis. That’s why changing our habits and achieving goals like weight loss are so hard.
Unfortunately, the treatments and advice given by the Western medical system can limit our beliefs about what’s actually possible. We need to let go of the limitations and any judgements we put on ourselves.
Our beliefs determine our outcomes, so we need to get ourselves in alignment with healing if we want to, like Arthur, benefit from miraculous results.
So how do we do that?
We have to release our subconscious barriers, but what are the ones I see the most? The first one is fear.
Subconscious blocks to healing – Fear
I had a client with a pattern of moving from one practitioner to another. Soon after she signed up for a long-term contract to work with me, she started missing appointments we had arranged.
After I asked her what she was afraid of, she told me she discovered that she had a fear of change. She had a difficult life so far with lots of uncertainty and unpredictability, so now she felt safer when she didn’t rock the boat. Not changing was more comfortable, even though it was unhealthy.

After realizing this, we worked together to release it, and she really started to show progress. She felt lighter, became more engaged with others, and started taking better care of herself.
Fear can also manifest as a fear of failure. This can be a motivator if you already feel positive about healing. But, if you aren’t getting better, and you find yourself not taking action due to belief that things won’t change, despite your efforts, this is a fear of discouragement. In this case, we have to be able to accept our failures and understand they are a part of learning, and progressing forward. We have to embrace the idea that if we learn from our failures, it will bring us closer to success!
Another kind of fear can strangely be the fear of success. Depending on our cultural background, some of us struggle with what the Australians call the ‘tall poppy syndrome’. In places like Asia and Australia, the culture discourages you stand out from the crowd. As for women in the US, we bump up against that internal glass ceiling, especially in male dominated fields like math, science, or construction. Being smart can come with the negative label of being nerdy, and the enforced stereotypes (thanks to the media) were that you can’t be nerdy and cool at the same time. These cultural influences, as well as the influences of our local communities can affect our relationship with success.
To determine if you have a fear of success ask yourself ‘what will I lose if I heal?’ You will then have to figure out how to get your needs met as a healthy person.
Whatever kind of fear you have, releasing it can facilitate your healing journey.
